More than 100 Belgian students had to be removed from a Ryanair flight leaving the Canary Islands on Saturday after a row broke out over excess hand luggage.
The argument arose when one of the students was told by the airline that a charge on excess hand luggage was necessary.
The pilot was preparing for take-off when they radioed for police to attend to the dispute.
The students defended their friends stance against paying the charge and of the 168 passengers only 66 were allowed back on the flight.
A Ryanair statement said that for security reasons, police refused to allow the entire group of students to travel.
