JOE

After a lengthy absence, Malcolm O’Kelly and Johnny O’Connor are reunited and join Rob to talk about Ireland’s forthcoming clash with Scotland, how the Six Nations teams compare with the various political parties, defensive systems and fancy dress outfits.

It’s been quite a long time, five weeks in fact, since Malcolm and Johnny shared the airwaves on the Weekly Maul and the two lads are quick to put to bed any rumours of a fallout. Unfortunately, their love-in is interrupted at the start of proceedings as Malcolm is visited at his door by members of the residents’ association, who he handles with aplomb.

The distractions over with, Malcolm, Johnny and Rob discuss Ireland’s Six Nations campaign so far and look ahead to the clash with Scotland in Murrayfield this Sunday.

There was a suggestion a couple of years back that the Munster players didn’t replicate their form for the national side and now with Leinster clearly ruling the roost at home, Rob puts it to the lads that the tables have turned and it is Leinster’s players and not Munster’s, who are not giving the same effort in a green jersey as the have done so often in blue jersey this season.

Rob is on a roll and with the election only around the corner, begins comparing the Six Nations teams to the various Irish political parties to the bewilderment of Malcolm and Johnny, while after Connacht mascot Eddie the Eagle was viciously assaulted at the weekend, Rob asks the lads what fancy costumes they have donned over the years.
