Ireland coach Declan Kidney has called 12 additional players into the Irish squad ahead of the Six Nations clash with Wales on Saturday.

Rhys Ruddock, Fergus McFadden, Tony Buckley, Kevin McLaughlin, Mick O’Driscoll, Donnacha Ryan, Gavin Duffy, Andrew Trimble, Johne Murphy, Tomas O’Leary, Devin Toner and Mike McCarthy have all been added to the panel and will join the match day 22 from the victory over Scotland last Sunday.

Kidney will name the starting XV and replacements to face Wales on Tuesday lunchtime and is expected to make minimal changes from the side that scraped past Scotland after a scrappy performance.

With O’Leary returning to the squad after a back injury, scrum half will pose the biggest selection issue for Kidney, while Ronan O’Gara is expected to retain the number ten jersey ahead of Jonathan Sexton after a man of the match display at Murrayfield.

Ireland’s clash with Wales kicks off at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday at 5pm.
