Injury-hit Ireland full back Rob Kearney talks about signing a new contract with Leinster and targeting a place in the squad for the World Cup later this year.

Now that he’s been signed up to play his rugby in Ireland for the next two years, Leinster’s Rob Kearney is targeting a spot in Declan Kidney’s Rugby World Cup squad as he continues his rehabilitation from the injury that ruled him out of this year’s Six Nations Championship.

Kearney, who has been out of action since injuring his knee in the defeat to New Zealand in the November internationals, has also signed for Leinster for another two years alongside the likes of Brian O’Driscoll, Jamie Heaslip, Jonathan Sexton and Sean O’Brien, and is looking forward to what should be a bright future for the province.

Check out the video above to listen to Kearney talk about his rehabilitation from injury, his future with Leinster and Ireland’s performances in the Six Nations so far.

Kearney, an ambassador for Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain, was speaking at a special rugby training session with a delighted Gorey RFC.

The Wexford rugby club won a competition run by Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain to experience their very own training session with the Leinster and Ireland fullback and professional trainers.
