Hereford – 3.40 – 3pts win

It’s difficult to oppose SIZING IRELAND in this Maiden Hurdle following the success of owner Alan Potts at the Cheltenham Festival.

This five-year-old is with Nicky Henderson and Tony McCoy throws the leg over for a second time to try to get him off the mark. It’s unlikely he’ll have it all his own way, however, as Cap Falco and Thingathong pose dangerous opposition.

Catterick – 3.50 – 2pts win

Old warrior FREMEN goes in search of his 20th career win this afternoon and the fact that Dandy Nicholls has two entries in this nine-runner event speaks volumes.

He hasn’t won since September last but this trip is adequate to his standards and the competition looks meek at best. A market move for stable mate Royal Dignitary should be watched for however.
