The hype for EA’s forthcoming shooter behemoth shows no sign of dying down, especially when the latest Battlefield 3 trailer, set for its TV debut this weekend, looks this good.
According to EA CEO John Riccitello, DICE’s stunning shooter sequel Battlefield 3 is ‘designed to take that game [Call of Duty] down’, adding that there will be a “couple of hundred million dollars of marketing” spent on both EA’s shooter and Activision’s industry-leading competitor.
This weekend, gamers will get their first glimpse of a UK and Ireland trailer for Battlefield 3 during the half-time adverts for ITV’s coverage of the FA Cup semi final between Manchester United and Manchester City.
According to EA’s Colin Blackwood, “We’ve had an amazing response from community and industry and we’re extremely excited to be able to show so much gameplay footage this early in the campaign”.
The advert, which is expected to utilise much of the below trailer, released today, focuses on the ‘Fault Line‘ that has been demonstrated in the shooter’s early previews and clips, while delivering brief snippets of explosive single-player levels, one of which apppears to showcase aerial combat.
We in the JOE offices are quite excited about Battlefield 3 and have already spoken to executive producer Patrick Bach and showcased early screens and conceptual art here.
If you can’t wait until half-time on Saturday or are viewing this story after the game itself, hold onto your hats and enjoy the ‘My Life’ trailer below:
