The UK’s brightest MMA star, Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping, has been labelled as “the most hated man in the US after Bin Laden” by his upcoming opponent.
While fighters often seek to rubbish the names of their rivals, Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller may have a point – Americans seem to really, really dislike Bisping.
The pair is set to begin filming season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter in Las Vegas and the shite is already being flung.
Miller, a veteran of the UFC and DREAM told Heavy.com how he considers it his patriotic duty to beat the crap out of the British fighter.
“I feel great getting the TUF spot. It’s a little early to start the smack talk but I’m going to beat the bangers and mash out of Bisping after my team smashes his team,” he said.
He continued, “Now that Osama is dead, Bisping is the most hated man in America. Everybody hates that guy. I wonder what it’s like to actually be hated that much. You would have to put a terrorist attack together to be hated any more than he is.”
Bisping has shown himself to be particularly sensitive when it comes to trash talk, as was demonstrated in the build up to his clash with Jorge Rivera.
Much of the animosity appears to have stemmed from Bisping’s bout with deaf UFC fighter Matt Hammill in the UK. Bisping seemed way behind on the scorecards only to take the victory on the judges’ decision.
Bisping and Miller will take to the cage for the season finale on 3 December.
