Ageing leads to tight trunks

Oh no. What we long suspected has been backed up by research: as men age we wear tighter trunks.

Oh no. What we long suspected has been backed up by research: as men age we wear tighter trunks.

Speedos are a definite no-no for all JOEs here at the moment but the day may well come when we ditch the over-the-knee Bermudas for something a little less comfortable. (We hope not.)

According to research undertaken by Debenhams, men think they look the business in Speedos by the time they reach 55.

And as they enter their 60s, most believe that two inches of fabric is sufficient to keep their tackle intact by the pool or on the beach.

A spokesperson for Debenhams said: “They no longer have the pressure of needing to look groomed at all times and so revert back to their swimwear of their boyhood, where having a great time on the beach and eating ice cream were all that mattered.”

Unfortunately, the trend of getting skimpier in the swimwear department has been instigated by wrinkly rockers like Rod Stewart, 66, and Sting, 59, who are both regularly spotted in Speedos. No shame.
