It’s that time of the week again – our countdown of the best five goals we’ve seen from around the world over the last few days.

5. Aiden McGeady (Spartak Moscow v Krylya Sovetov)

Irish international McGeady kicks us off this weekend with a lovely volley from Spartak’s 3-0 victory at the weekend. The goal marked the unlikely Russian league success story’s first full appearance since returning from injury.

4. Xavi (Barcelona v Osasuna)

After the equivalent of a club crisis last week with 2-2 draws in the space of a week, Barcelona reverted to type with a 8-0 rollicking over sorry Osasuna. There were simply too many extremely well taken goals in this encounter but if we had to pick a favourite, it would have to be the below lob from Xavi. Jump to 3.38 or watch the entire masterclass in full below.

3. Luke Modric (Tottenham Hotspur v Wolfsburg)

Accusations that Luka Modric, having had his eye turned early in the summer by Chelsea, wasn’t going to put in a full shift for Spurs this season appear to have been greatly exaggerated. How else to explain this exquisite strike which opened the floodgates for a 4-0 demolition of nine-man Liverpool?

2. Benjamin de Ceulaer (Sporting Lokeren OVL v Club Brugges)

Against one of the giants of the Belgian game in Club Brugge, Sporting Lokeren were eventually swept 2-1 over the weekend. However, they left their mark with an incredible heel flick and volley combination from Benjamin de Ceulaer. Enjoy and make sure to mention JOE when you eventually use it as your Facebook status.

1. Nani (Manchester United v Chelsea)

The highlight of an unusually exciting clash between Chelsea and the Reds (unless you’d rather watch Rooney cocked-up penalty and Torres’ open goal miss on repeat) was this stunning long-range strike from Nani. Aided by a fantastic pass from Jonny Evans, the Portuguese international ran at the Chelsea defence and let loose with a sumptuous shot to mark his 100th Premier League appearence.
