Now we here in the office gave a little whoop of delight – and a conga line is planned for later – when we saw Ireland get pulled out of the hat against Estonia.
That’s fine because we’re fans and we’re allowed to act happy at what looks like an easy draw.
But if you’re the head of the FAI, sitting in the room where the draw is talking place, with the Estonian FA only a few seats away, it might be an idea to keep your joy to yourself.
Dear old John Delaney couldn’t help himself and was chortling away when our name came out, stopping just short, you feel, of a little fist pump of delight.
We get it John, our chances are great now. But remember, if we balls this up now, you won’t be laughing.
