Video: What you have to do to beat the All Blacks

Beating New Zealand at Eden Park is nearly impossible. Look what the last team who did it had to do to win.

JOE

Australia have a tough job ahead of them on Sunday. They are 9/4 to beat New Zealand at Eden Park on Sunday and with good reason.

Australia haven’t beaten New Zealand at Eden Park since 1986, a year before the very first World Cup. More impressively, the All Blacks haven’t lost to anybody at the Auckland venue since 1994.

France hold the honour of being the last team to beat them there and it took a moment of magic that is stunning, even by the standards of French flair on the rugby pitch.

With three minutes to go the home side led 20-16 but somehow France ran the ball from their own 22, through nine different players, before Jean-Luc Sadourny crossed to win the game for the visitors.

It is known as ‘the try from the end of the world’ and the Wallabies may have to produce something similar to stop New Zealand on Sunday.
