Not often do Lamborghini make a monstrosity, but their remake of the short film C’était un Rendezvous cuts it fairly close.
For those of you who are into motors but are unaware of C’était un Rendezvous then you must check it out below as it’s truly amazing.
In 1978 a ten-minute short film was produced which featured a Ferrari 275 GTB as it tore around the streets of Paris in the wee hours of the morning. It stands today as one of the riskiest, fastest and most insane video’s recorded on the open roads. A camera was mounted to the front of the car so you don’t get to see what it is, but you can clearly see what it is capable of doing.
Sadly, there is a bit of myth to this legend of a video as the car was actually a Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9, which is still a monster.
Now, 33 years on and Lamborghini has taken upon itself the task of ruining a classic, which they’ve succeeded in doing whether they meant to or not.
Ok, so it’s more a homage then a remake, but the Lambo advert for the new Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale could have at least left C’était un Rendezvous with some dignity.
What we can say about the Gallardo is that it sounds extremely impressive thanks to its 562bhp 5.2-litre V10. Extremely impressive indeed.
