If there was a video that proved power isn’t everything, this is it, as a Renault Megane takes on a Porsche 911 and beats it on the Nurburgring.

This is one of those moments that every Joe soap in a Renault dreams of – taking on a more powerful car and overtaking it. Here we see a Renault Megane RS just before a Porsche 911 GT2 RS passes it. From here on, the real race begins.

In the short two-minute clip the Megane stays quite close to back of the 911, only to be out powered on the straights. However, proving that power isn’t everything, the Megane driver crawls back the seconds with pure skills on the corners.

In terms of power the 911 GT2 RS has a 3.6 litre water-cooled twin-turbo H6 engine that reaches a top speed of around 330 kph. The Megane RS on the other hand has a 2 litre turbo-charged engine that can reach a top speed of around 240 kph.

In fairness, the Porsche driver may have been taking his new 911 GT2 RS out on the ‘Ring for the first time and the Megane driver might work at the ‘Ring. Either way, the clip proves that dreams can come true.
