Giovanni Trapattoni has named the Ireland team for tomorrow night’s play-off clash with Estonia. Well, he’s named ten of the team anyway.
Trap has delayed a decision on who will partner Robbie Keane until prior to kick-off tomorrow despite hinting earlier in the week that the burly Jonathan Walters would be preferred to the marginally more fleet-footed Simon Cox up front.
That aside, the team named is along predictable lines, with the Stephens, Ward and Kelly, as full-backs either side of Richard Dunne and Sean St. Ledger, Damien Duff and Aiden McGeady on the wings and the pedestrian pairing of Keith Andrews and Glenn Whelan in the centre of midfield.
Ireland’s clash with Estonia kicks off tomorrow evening at 7.45pm.
Ireland team to play Estonia: Given, Kelly, Dunne, St Ledger, Ward; McGeady, Whelan, Andrews, Duff; Keane, Walters/Cox.
