If you’ve been planning a mini-break away with the girlfriend or missus then why not book a room at one of the best hotels in the world? Apparently we have three of them right on our doorstep.
The Irish Independent reports that three Irish hotels have made it into the ranks of the world’s top 25 hotels. Castlewood House Hotel in Kerry was named as the best hotel in Ireland, the second best hotel in Europe and the sixth best in the entire world. Not bad for a hotel from Dingle, right?
The list of the world’s top 25 hotels was put together by TripAdvisor – the largest travel website on the internet. Unlike the usual hotel honours that are dished out by industry professionals, TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice winners are based on millions of great reviews and opinions that come directly from travellers around the world.
The Castlewood Hotel has a five-star traveller rating on the website and comments from visitors include “excellent all around,” “the best place we stayed in Ireland” and “absolutely first class.”
“We are so honoured to be recognised by TripAdvisor as a 2012 Travellers’ Choice award-winning hotel,” said Brian and Helen Heaton, the owners of Castlewood House Hotel.
“We strive to provide the utmost in service and customer care to our guests and would like to take this opportunity to thank our guests for helping us to receive this award,” they added.
The Loch Lein House Hotel, also in Kerry, made the top 25 list as well, coming in at a very respectable eighth place, and the Strandhill Lodge and Suites Hotel in county Sligo was named number thirteen.
No Irish hotels featured in last year’s Top 25 Hotels in the World list, but this year we made the cut. There’s never been a better excuse to have that cheeky weekend away.
