Looking forward to the start of the GAA National Leagues? Setanta’s the place to be with hours and hours of dedicated GAA coverage over the next couple of months.
The ball gets rolling with a three-pronged live football offering this Saturday night, with the All-Ireland final rematch between Dublin and Kerry the highlight of the opening weekend’s viewing.
That game will be screened live on Setanta Ireland, but Setanta subscribers can also take in live coverage of the first part of the opening night Croke Park double-header, between Kildare and Tyrone in Division 2, while over on Setanta Sports 1 the Division 1 encounter between Ulster rivals Down and Donegal is also given the live TV treatment.
Brian Quinn, Customer Acquisition Director of Setanta Sports, said, “We have a huge amount of exciting programming lined up for GAA fans over the coming months.”
“The rematch between Kerry and Dublin will be electric and we couldn’t have wished for a better start to the season. To mark it, Kieran [Donaghy] and Alan [Brogan] will be contributing to a special one off match preview to be screened on Saturday at 9.45am.”
In all, 12 of the 16 teams in the top two divisions of the National Football League will feature in 11 live football games over the next two months, while there will also be three eagerly-awaited games from the National Hurling League, starting with an all-Munster double-header on Saturday 25 February.
In addition to 14 GAA Allianz League matches, Setanta’s GAA schedule also includes “The Club”, a brand new TV series looking at the lives of female GAA players both on and off the pitch.
iTalkSport on Sunday mornings will have a particular GAA focus with Kerry’s former Footballer of the Year Paul Galvin due to appear for the next two Sundays (February 5-12).
Another GAA documentary, “An Exile’s Home in the Bronx” airs on Monday, February 13th. This documentary gives a fly-on-the-wall view of the New York Senior Gaelic football team in the lead up to their Connacht Senior Football Championship Qualifier against Roscommon.
