Going bald? Why not just get some hair tattooed onto your head?

Upset about going bald? Why not get your hair tattooed onto your head?

Are you upset about going bald? You’re not alone. Apparently losing their hair upsets men more than bankruptcy or remaining single in their later lives. But don’t worry, because a new company has just the thing to save you from complete embarrassment.

The Daily Mail reports that HIS (also known as Hair-Ink-Skin) Hair is a ‘hair’ salon with a difference. Rather than offering you a wig or a comb over, it uses a new technique to disguise baldness – it tattoos hair onto your head. Yes, seriously.

Fronted by celebrity hairdresser Adee Phelan, HIS Hair uses a tattoo gun to literally give you the appearance of a short, cropped, skinhead hairstyle. By using different shades of specifically blended ink colours, the treatment (known as micro hair technique) is able to replicate the size, shape and density of small hairs.

“I was 24 when I started losing my hair. I got behind the product because I know it looks good,” says Adee, whose clients include David Beckham and the England Football Team.

“Going bald didn’t particularly bother me but there are guys out there who are literally suicidal about it. Stars like Wayne Rooney, tweeting about having a hair transplant, have really helped the cause and encouraged people to face it head-on,” he added.

The bad news is that the technique is not available in Ireland yet. Oh and it costs an average of €2,500.

The technique itself was developed by a man named Ian Watson, who founded the company after he developed alopecia in his mid-twenties. His alopecia was brought on by the tragic death of his brother. In desperation he asked his brother’s widow to find the smallest pen she could get to draw dots on his head. He was hoping to try and emulate a “skinhead” look.

After years of intensive research, HIS Hair was born.

“This is a great permanent, non-surgical option that can disguise everything from male-pattern baldness to receding hair lines and scars on your head,” says Adee.

57 per cent of Irish men suffer from hair-thinning due to stress and for others, baldness is inherited from their parents.

What do you think? Would you ever consider getting some hair tattooed onto your head?
