Video: Dereck Chisora slaps Vitali Klitschko at pre-fight weigh-in

It takes a lot for people to get excited about heavyweight boxing these days, but at least there was a little entertainment at the Klitshcko/Chisora weigh-in in Munich today.

Standing face to face with the elder of the Klitschko brothers, Chisora – who was wearing a ridiculous Union Jack handkerchief across his face for some reason – lashed out at WBC World Champion Vitali and copped him a fair smack on the cheek.

Vitali, to his credit, resisted the temptation to respond to the baiting and said afterwards: “I am going to hit back on Saturday. He will get his beating.”

He’s probably right too. Chisora goes into the fight as an 8/1 outsider and is five inches shorter than his opponent, who has won 40 of his 45 fights by knockout and suffered only two defeats.

Chisora, an average fighter in comparison, can probably be forgiven for using any methods necessary in an attempt to put off the 40-year old, but he should be wary that landing a punch in the weigh-in is no real recipe for success.

Just ask Clarence Tillman, the man hammered by part-time boxer Sonny Bill Williams in New Zealand earlier this month.
