Men spend longer in the bathroom than women

Well it's true, men are officially spending longer in the bathroom than women. They're also more likely to use their smartphone while on the toilet and most of them think about Cheryl Cole in the shower...

Well it seems like taking the newspaper to the bathroom is a dying tradition, as a new survey has found that men are more likely to swap their tabloids and broadsheets for a smartphone.

The Daily Mail reports that the advances in technology have encouraged men to update their bathroom reading habits. Gone are the days of smuggling the daily paper into the jacks instead it’s all about the smart phone, according to new research.

Apparently one in every two men regularly takes their mobile phone into the bathroom in order to keep on top of social networking, respond to emails and text their friends. So the next time you get a text off one of your friends – chances are he’s thinking about you, while in the jacks, ew…

The survey, carried out by Head and Shoulders, found that men actually spend longer in the bathroom than women. The male species is ranking up 19 minutes in the lavatory on a typical weekday compared with women who only spend 18 minutes. Okay, so there’s only a minute in the difference, but still. It’s worrying.

Men are more likely to take two or more showers a day in comparison to their female counterparts, and, according to the survey, men would rank a loofah and a nail scissors as bathroom essentials – more so than women. Honestly, do men even know what a loofah is in fairness?

The reason for all this cleanliness? Well apparently men feel more productive after a shower, whereas women say a shower makes them feel more attractive.

And who are people thinking about when they’re in the shower? Don’t worry – you’re not likely to receive a text from your friend while he’s in the shower. According to the survey, most women think about Johnny Depp (surprise, surprise) and most men think about Cheryl Cole.

Do you agree or disagree?
