For the crackin’ summery, footbally day that’s in it, this week’s Essential Holiday tune with Thomas Cook is ‘Put ‘Em Under Pressure’ performed admirably by the 1990 Irish World Cup Squad.
To be fair, this tune would be every week’s choice for the rest of time if we could have it.
Considered the greatest Irish song ever written (by JOE), the anthem is a mix of Big Jack’s inspiring words, the Horslips’ riff-tastic ‘Dearg Doom’ and Mick McCarthy heading a ball while playing the drums.
The perfect summer mix.
Now, unplug the headphones, turn the volume right up and get the hankies – this is going to get emotional.
