Aaron Clarke could be quids in tonight if things go his way in Wembley. Emphasis there is on the ‘could be’.
With just hours to go now until kick-off excitement is definitely building in JOE Towers for tonight’s big game in London. We’ve debated already whether we think the bookies are being a bit harsh on the Boys in Green but one Irish fan is not just confident of an Irish win, he’s out his money where his mouth is.
This is Aaron Clarke’s betting slip for tonight’s game. Not only has he backed Ireland to win 1-0, but he also reckons that the man who will put the ball in the English net tonight will be Paul McShane. That combination results in very tasty odds of 330/1. Aaron was so impressed he put an entire Euro, yes 100 cents, on the docket and handed it across the counter like he just didn’t care.

The Hull man isn’t named in Giovanni Trapattoni’s starting XI for tonight’s game with England so Aaron either has some inside knowledge or he’s just a very ‘glass-half-full’ type of fan.
Either way if the red-haired marauder from Wicklow does do the business tonight, the pints are on Aaron.
