There was quite a lot of talk about Pamela Anderson over the weekend after an advert she featured in was banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in the UK, so here’s a look at the clip in question…

Pamela Anderson’s latest TV ad for a web hosting company called Dreamscape Networks has been banned in the UK after many complaints deemed the ad to be “sexist”. You can read all about the ruling here.

The one-minute clip features Pamela pouring cream over a female colleague, called Vanessa, as they wear little to nothing, but according to the ASA the ad is “sexist and degrading to women”. That means it won’t be shown again on TV in it’s current form.

The advertising watchdog said the male’s fantasy “gave the impression that he viewed his female colleagues as sexual objects”.

“Because of that, we considered the ad was likely to cause serious offence to some viewers on the basis that it was sexist and degrading to women,” said the ASA.

A spokesperson from Dreamscape Networks defended the advert saying it showed that both actresses were “attractive, dynamic and confident business people”.

What do you think? Is the advert a disgrace or are the feminists overreacting?
