Do you love Resident Evil 6? Would you be willing to part with nearly €1,000 for an extra special edition of the upcoming game? Hmm… we thought not.
The reason behind the staggering price for the platinum edition of the October release is that Capcom fans won’t just receive four cases for the game and the disc itself – they’ll get the chance to wear the leather jacket of one of the game’s three protagonists, series regular Leon Kennedy, pictured below.

The jacket will be available in four sizes – small to extra large – and will retail in Japan for 105,000 yen. That roughly translates to around €990.
Would you go to these kind of extremes to prove your love of Leon Kennedy and/or improve your cosplay version of him? We think it’s a crazy proposition, although the jacket is apparently made of an extremely soft leather, so we might be tempted.
Resident Evil 6 comes to Irish stores on October 2, having had its release date pushed forward by six weeks in an announcement earlier this week. We’ve no word yet whether the platinum edition is heading to Europe yet but once we know, you’ll know.
