Getting through this interview without punching Garry Richardson might have been the hardest thing Andy Murray has done at Wimbledon.
Is this post-match interview worse than the interview Michael Vaughan did for the BBC with Tiger Woods post one of the golfer’s rounds at the 2012 Masters?
Probably not but it’s damn close.
After finally fending off Fernando Verdasco to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals this evening, Andy Murray came in to face the obligatory post-match interview with host broadcaster the BBC.
Garry Richardson was the man on duty but from his awkward reference to Alex Ferguson, to his accusation that Murray needed a bollocking from Ivan Lendl, it was possibly the worst opening question we’ve seen for a very long time.
The Scot was understandably a bit cheesed off and the remainder of the interview was notable for the terse answers given by Murray before he made a very quick exit.
We can’t blame him either.
