An Australian female civil servant has been awarded compensation from a judge after she sustained an injury whilst having sex on a business trip.
According to court reports, a female human resources worker from the Australian capital of Canberra needed medical attention after she was struck in the face by a falling light. The light fell as she was getting it off with ‘a male friend’ during a legitimate business trip. That’s why you should always check if the headboard is up to the challenge first.
The court originally decided that the woman was not entitled to compensation, however, after an appeal the Australian Federal Court ruled that she most certainly was entitled to it.
According to the woman, the injury was sustained “during the course of her employment” as her employer was paying for the hotel room.
After hearing the various arguments, Judge John Nicholas agreed that the woman was due her compensation for her facial and psychological injuries. Well, in fairness, she didn’t get to finish the deed, so she’s entitled to something there.
Judge John Nicholas said: “If the applicant had been injured while playing a game of cards in her motel room, she would be entitled to compensation.”
The woman cannot be named for legal (husband) reasons and she is also going to get her legal costs paid too.
The business trip didn’t turn out so bad after all.
