Love Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros fighter series but wish it had Sony characters instead? Then it seems as though your wish has been fulfilled.
After months of rumours, the game has been confirmed as Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and will include the likes of God of War star Kratos (who was pretty nifty in last year’s Mortal Kombat), Sly Cooper and most amazingly of all, the return of PaRappa the Rapper.
Take a look at the first footage of game below and try not to count the amount of features which were clearly ‘inspired’ by Super Smash Bros:
“PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale delivers a veritable encyclopedia of PlayStation’s rich gaming history,” reckons Guy Longworth, Senior Vice President of Marketing, SCEA. “This game is a celebration for fans of PlayStation and we are excited to deliver the most comprehensive brawler available.”
Players can fight in a variety of configurations in the game, including versus matches for four, team battles, special practice modes, and team up with friends to take on players online.
Online battles will deliver a new set of challenges, including Tournament mode, Special Event Battle, and Custom Matches. In Tournament, players are matched online to gain experience and special awards.
How does Battle Royale look to you and which characters do you want to see appear? We’re hoping to see a Crash Bandicoot v Nathan Drake brawl soon.
