Chelsea, Liverpool and any other clubs lining up Jose Mourinho as their new manager can forget about it, as the Special One has signed a new four-year deal at Real Madrid.
Speculation had linked Mourinho with a move away from the Spanish giants in the summer despite the fact that he guided Los Blancos to their first La Liga title since 2008 and was a penalty shoot-out away from what would have been Real’s first Champions League Final since 2002.
Instead, he has signed a four year extension to his current deal at Madrid, which ties him down to the club until 2016 and puts him out of reach of any clubs looking to get their greedy mitts on the Portuguese coach.
The news will disappoint Chelsea fans who were hankering for the Special One’s return to West London having had their hopes raised by the sight of Mourinho checking out properties in the English capital earlier this year.
The prospect of him coming to Liverpool was an even more distant one, but now FSG will have to concentrate on Roberto Martinez, Brendan Rodgers and the other names in the lucky bag that have been linked with the Anfield hotseat.
