The Bioxsine blog Week 5: Style with substance

This week the Bioxsine blog takes a quick look last week’s post and also at what can be done with your hair once you’ve applied the shampoo and serum.

Last week, I was a little worried that I wasn’t doing everything I should be in order to fully reap the rewards that Bioxsine claims to offer. This week I’m feeling much better and I’ve found that staying on top of applying the brown gloopy stuff to my head is actually making me feel a bit better about myself.

You tend to lose a shred of confidence every time you have to swat a dead hair off your work desk or off the kitchen table (or worse, pulling one off your dinner plate). However, there has certainly been a lack of fallen comrades to have to deal with ever since I started the treatment, which is great news.

A friend of mine asked me on a night out recently if I had been using hair gel. I take it he asked because my hair was somewhat stiff, but I turned around and plainly said no. The only thing that has touched my hair in the past month (well, two years to be more precise) was the Bioxsine Forte shampoo and serum – nothing else.

Still, it got me thinking, what can you do if you generally use gel but you’re starting to thin on top?

I did a bit of research and found that using gel all over your head isn’t really advised. On the Irish Bioxsine website (keepyourhairon.ie) it states: “Products like hair gels and hair sprays are definite causes of hair loss, therefore the use of such cosmetics is not recommended. If they must be used, application should preferably be limited to the ends of the hair”.

So at least you can still use a little bit of gel if you have to, just once you’re not dousing your head in the stuff, I guess.

To be honest though, once you spray the Bioxsine serum into your hair and let it dry it becomes a little hard which makes it much easier to manage your hair. It also makes your hair look a heck of a lot thicker, albeit dryer, and it certainly gives more substance to your noggin. Thankfully, the shiny head look is out of fashion these days, so you won’t have to worry about your hair looking too dry.

If your hair is your temple and you’re worried about losing it before your 30’s then you might want stop relying on hair gel to get your preferred style. If however, you’re currently using Bioxsine, then at least you know you can still use a bit if needs be. Just not too much.

Check back next week to see how Oisin gets on in the Bioxsine hair loss blog. Bioxsine is available from all good pharmacies nationwide. For more on the all-natural hair loss treatment, check out www.keepyourhairon.ie.
