Gary Twigg scoring four goals against Barcelona? Goals that gave everybody present ‘boners’? We smell a Wikipedia hacking.
The Shamrock Rovers striker has become the latest in a long line of sporting figures to fall victim to a Wikipedia hacking, unless of course there was a secret clash between the Hoops and Barcelona a couple of years ago that we never heard about.
According to Twigg’s Wikipedia page, the highlight of the Glasgow native’s season in 2010/11 was “when he scored an unprecedented four goals against Barcelona in a fierce contest between the sides which saw Shamrock Rovers win 4-3 in dramatic fashion. It is said that the four goals gave everyone a boner, even the girls.”
Now Twigg might be one of the most potent strikers on the domestic scene at the moment, but not even the world’s greatest strikers are capable of scoring a quartet of goals against one of the greatest club teams of all team and even if they did, we doubt that those present would have got as erotically aroused as Twigg’s Wikipedia page suggests.
How long the above entry has existed on Twigg’s page we’re not sure, but the genius behind the Wikipedia hacking was clever enough to include it in a brief passage about Twigg’s time at Burton Albion as opposed to in a lengthier passage on his career with the Hoops, which probably would have been more easily spotted by Rovers fans.
Of course, if it had been the case that Twigg’s scoring exploits gave people boners, he wouldn’t be the only striker based around these parts capable of bringing out the sensual tendencies in a football audience.
After all, if Twigg can do that, can you imagine the effect that the Long Cox partnership could have on a crowd?
