With a prize fund of €750,000, the Red Mills Champion Stakes will be the featured race of the day.

Punters will be flocking to see how the likes of Camelot, Carton House, Homecoming Queen and others among the 50 strong entries fare out in what has become one of the most prestigious races in the international calendar.

Indeed the meet is now ranked eighth on the world racing stage as the best in Irish, French and British talent battle for the top prize.

Significantly this year both the feature race and the ICON plc Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Trial will provide a gateway to the prestigious Breeders Cup in the USA in November.

Pat Keogh CEO of Leopardstown racecourse is understandably excited about the day.

“It has always been a great day for Irish racing, but this year it promises much more as it continues to show its worth on the international stage,” he enthused.

The fashionista will also get their chance to shine on the day. Ireland and Leinster winger Luke Fitzgerald will judge the Best Dressed Man competition, with stylist and fashion presenter Marietta Doran presiding over the Best Dressed Lady.

The lucky winners will be well rewarded for getting the gladrags out with prize fund of €7,000 available to the two recipients.
