As if there wasn’t enough amazing sport on today, John Higgins has only gone and scored a maximum 147 break against Judd Trump in China.
You know you are heading into the winter for sure when snooker is back on the sporting calendar. The circuit is currently in the hotbed of the game that is China and earlier this morning John Higgins was playing Judd Trump in the final of the Shanghai Masters.
Trump was dominating the final and was leading the best of 19 final 5-0 when Higgins struck. The Scot cleared the table in just over 10 minutes and even though maximums are not nearly as rare as they were, sporting perfection is always a joy to behold.
Funnily enough, Trump cleared 14 reds and blacks in the very first frame of the match before coming unstuck on the final red.
It was Higgins’s sixth maximum as a pro but he still trails the English potter 7-2 at the interval so he will need to rediscover this form as soon as he can.
