We love Angry Birds and Star Wars at JOE Towers so we really hope the new game ‘Angry Birds Star Wars’ is not a piece of Sith.
We shudder to think what we could have done with our lives in the time we have spent playing Angry Birds on our phones. We have missed stops on buses, stayed up until stupid o’clock and burned through valuable battery life all to get those precious three stars on countless Angry Birds levels.
As we speak, we are working our way through spin-off game Bad Piggies and while it is better than most games you find in the App Store, it’s just not the same as the original Rovio classic.
So we are both excited and a little worried at the news today that a fifth Angry Birds game is about to be released on November 8. Excited because we only have a month to wait but worried because it is a Star Wars tie-in.
Star Wars has been re-jigged to make more money for George Lucas once too often in our book (those Currys ads still make us shudder) so we’re concerned. We’re told the game will feature Luke, Leia, Han Solo and Chewbacca taking on stormtrooper pigs in lots of familiar locations. It could be brilliant, and with Rovio’s record we are trying to be optimistic.
We’ve attached the promo video below but it doesn’t tell us much. We guess we will have to wait but we’re praying this isn’t the moment Angry Birds jumps the shark.
