L’Oréal’s Hydra Energetic Recharging Moisturiser Turbo Booster – the name screams space age.
Then you open the packaging to find a cylindrical, test tube casing holding a bright orange substance – it looks like something from a Ridley Scott Movie.
Apparently we’ve been using moisturiser since the Mesolithic era 10,000 years ago when people lathered themselves with animal fat, avocado, palm-oil or crushed plants to keep their skin supple. (Wikipedia. Not gonna lie.)
These days L’Oréal are keeping things simple, so rather than having to forage for palm leaves to rub on your face, all you have to do is press the top of the capsule to have the perfect amount of moisturiser dispensed into your hand.
The key ingredients are Taurine and Vitamin C. Taurine is great for energy drinks, but it’s also a superb substance for maintaining skin hydration, while Vitamin C is key to the production of collagen, the protein that helps cell and blood vessels all helping to firm up your skin. Both elements work together to rejuvenate, repair and soothe damaged skin and leave it refreshed.
The science checks out, but what about the intangibles? How does it make you feel?Well as soon as JOE left the house this morning, feeling fresh-faced, we started receiving compliments on how well we looked – but also lots of comments about how amazing we smelled. The orange mosituriser smells fragrant, fresh and clean without being overbearing or unnatural. Fresh faced and no need for aftershave? Win.
