Dana White has announced that the UFC will return to Ireland in 2013 or 2014.

Speaking in the short video above, the outspoken UFC President White confirmed that the world’s largest mixed martial arts promotion will return to Ireland within the next two years.

Dublin hosted UFC: 93 in Dublin back in 2009 which was headlined by Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin and featured many more top mixed martial arts stars.

The event sold out in a matter of hours and generated a €1million gate from the 9,369 that attended the O2, while the event was widely praised for the “enthusiastic” crowd.

In the video above Dana White promises that the UFC will return in 2013 or 2014.

Ireland has long been promised a UFC event to follow up on UFC: 93 but as yet no firm plans have been outlined.

Many online MMA outlets have today said the success of Irish fighters like Chris Fields, Cathal Pendred , Paddy Holohan and Conor McGregor on the international stage has caught the eye of the UFC.

We will have more from the UFC as the story develops though a spokesperson for the organisation told JOE today that there is nothing officially confirmed in relation to the UFC’s possible return to Ireland as yet.
