“Sure do miss that laugh” – The Simpsons brilliantly pay tribute to Marcia Wallace’s Edna Krabappel

Uh-oh, cue the tears...

Uh-oh, cue the tears…

Following on from the tragic death of voice artist Marcia Wallace last October, The Simpsons saw fit to pay tribute to one of the show’s fan favourites by paying homage to her through Bart’s blackboard message, the Christmas couch gag and, most recently, they included a lovely moment between the departed Edna, Ned Flanders and Nelson Muntz.

‘The Man Who Grew Too Much,’ Fox’s latest episode in the US (March 9th 2014), mainly focused on the return of Sideshow Bob (Kelsey Grammer) but the show beautifully closed with a touching finale as Edna and Flanders danced together and the much-missed teacher let out one of her unique laughs. “HA!”

“I sure do miss that laugh,” Flanders says, before a laughing Nelson admits “I miss her too.”

Season 24 of The Simpsons currently airs on Sky 1 in Ireland and the UK.
