Already ruled out of the Guinness Autumn Series, Paul O’Connell is now a doubt for the Heineken Cup fixtures in December.

O’Connell was ruled out of the clash with Argentina on Saturday week along with Stephen Ferris yesterday, but now Munster will be sweating on his fitness with back-to-back fixtures with Saracens next month.
“Certainly the nature of the injury means that it’s a question of wait and see. It certainly isn’t a black and white situation in terms of knowing the exact prognosis for what you do from this moment on,” Ireland manager Michael Kearney told the media at Carton House yesterday.
Rob Penney will now be anxiously waiting on the fitness of his former skipper, with the fixtures against the English outfit likely to determine who will emerge for the knock-out stages.
