As the year draws to a close, JOE decides to look forward to what the future holds for us gamers in 2013. And we’re pretty excited about it all too.

GTA V
This is a fairly obvious choice for this list, and the ridiculous hype has begun already. Between sneak previews and the odd screenshot or trailer, we are ridiculously excited to start another rampage in San Andreas. The game looks to have fighter jets, planes, and some very slick cars which have been rendered with incredible graphics. We will definitely be glued to the screens once this one comes out. Check out the trailer if you haven’t seen it already.
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes
It might well be released a long way into 2013 (the 26th year of the franchise!) but we can’t wait to get our hands on this one here at JOE. The trailer makes it look like the most cinematic effort to date, and the graphics have absolutely blown us away. It’s a long video, but sets the mood for this to be an absolute cracker, well worth ten minutes of your time.
Fifa 14
We don’t know what’s in store for the latest instalment of the ever-popular FIFA series, but we’re already looking forward to its release at the end of next year. The rumour is that PES, their main rivals, are going to reboot with a new graphics engine for next year’s game, so hopefully EA will suitably up their game in response. Not to mention it’ll be made for a World Cup year, so we hope they have something special up their sleeves.

Tomb Raider
Given that we thought this was one of the best games ever released on PS One, we were hardly going to ignore it when it comes out with a reboot in March of next year from Crystal Dynamics. The storyline is based around an origin story, so we’re giddy with anticipation of how atmospheric they seem to have made this new one. Plus it’s Lara Croft, no brainer, right? We’ve even got another trailer for you!
The Last of Us
Form dictates that Naughty Dog, the makers of the Uncharted series, are going to deliver on their next title, The Last of Us. Set in some sort of zombie ridden post-apocalypse world, this game looks to combine a good bit of action with a pretty interesting story line to back it up. Sounds good to us!
