In the first Hard Yards Podcast of 2013, the lads preview the weekend’s Heineken Cup action and talk about Paul O’Connell’s injury, Conor O’Shea’s success and Malcolm O’Kelly’s incredibly strange strapping habits.

The next two weekends are huge ones in terms of the Irish provinces’ chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Heineken Cup and having been silenced for the best part of a month since the last podcast, Mal and Jerry have plenty to say about what’s in store for Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connacht this weekend.

Host Alan Metcalfe and Conor Heneghan also join in as the lads turn their attention to Paul O’Connell’s current plight and their own experiences of injury through the years, the success of Conor O’Shea at Harlequins, Saracens’ plastic pitch and the time Malcolm O’Kelly stuck a packet of wine gums into his lifting straps.
