Ahead of a huge weekend in the Heineken Cup, the lads look ahead to some big games for the Irish provinces and tell the REAL story behind contract negotiations and tax. Believe it or not, it isn’t boring at all.
It’s D-Day for Leinster and Munster on the final weekend of pool matches and knowing that they might have only one Irish team to talk about when the competition and the podcast return in three months time, Jerry and Mal put their necks on the line and really delivered the goods this week.
Host Alan Metcalfe and Conor Heneghan joined in the fun as the discussion focussed on the various permutations surrounding this weekend’s games, whether Leinster or Munster can pull it off and a particularly interesting debate on Jonathan Sexton’s future in the face of a reportedly huge cash offer from French fatcats Racing Metro, what REALLY happens during contract negotiations and how tax plays a fairly big part in it all. It’s actually interesting and not at all boring. Honest.
With Jerry dominating Mal in the prediction stakes to date, Mal suggested added some spice to this week’s forecast by adding the bonus point into the equation for games involving the Irish sides.
