Stone Cold Steve Austin gets his acting skills out for action movie The Package.

Former wrestler Steve Austin is trying his hand at acting. Bless him for trying but just because The Rock/Dwayne Johnson has made the transition from wrestler to acting superstar doesn’t mean he’ll get away with it too.
Austin plays a courier for an underground crime boss and is given the titular ‘package’ to deliver. But oh no, some other bad guys want the same mysterious package and try to take it from him. Bad idea!
While the fight scenes look like a play-by-play (worse than WWF), Austin’s acting looks spoon-fed line by line. But we still kind of want to see it. It could be a ‘so bad it’s good’ kind of movie. And in fairness, he’s 49 now so he’s getting on a bit to be still fighting.
The director Jesse V. Johnson has more experience in stunts than directing, so its possible that he has a few tricks up his sleeve (we hope). We suspect Austin has some money hitched to this wagon too… well somebody had to finance it.
Release date March 4.
