Whether you loved him or you hated him, Tito Ortiz was one of the greats of the UFC and a deserved Hall of Famer.

January 23rd is the birthday of one of the greatest mixed martial arts fighters ever to enter the ring, Jacob Christopher Ortiz, or Tito as we all know him.
One of the biggest pay-per-view draws and stars in the UFC, Ortiz was also known as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter which helped to make him a household name for those who had even a passing interest in the sport.
He was crucial to the growth of the UFC and the popularity of mixed martial arts in general after some great feuds and bouts with Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans and Ken Shamrock.
Although his career was up and down (and included a stint outside the UFC after falling out with Dana White) he remains one of the best remembered stars of the sport and the longest reigning light heavyweight champion.
Enjoy your 38th birthday Tito!
