After a big build up to this fight, Overeem was completely shocked in the third round by Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva.

Alastair Overeem will be wondering this morning how exactly he lost this fight after he controlled the first two rounds completely and ending up knocked out on the canvas at the end.
Antonio Silva didn’t manage to do much in the first two rounds and was kept pretty quiet by Overeem, the overwhelming favourite, but as the fight entered the third round, he noticeably tired, and gave Silva the window he needed.
With his back up against the cage, Silva landed a series of uppercuts and clean punches that finished the fight, leaving Overeem knocked out on the canvas.
This will be a major setback for Overeem, who was in line for a title shot had he won this match up.
