Wesley Snipes stars in western zombie flick GallowWalker, yet he is still in prison?
By Genna Patterson
Wesley Snipes likes a good fightin’ movie. The actor played a half vampire warrior in the Blade movies and has trained in martial arts since he was twelve. Now he’s starring in a cowboy western/zombie movie. But wait, isn’t he in prison… Yes, he is. It’s a movie he shot before going to jail for tax evasion in 2010 and has just been picked up for distribution.
Snipes currently resides in ‘Club Fed’, a minimum security prison in Pennsylvania after transferring from McKeaon Federal Correctional Institution, a medium-security jail. Snipes, who celebrated his 50th birthday locked up, is due for a release on July 19, this year. As the movie is cited for a 2013 release, but no particular date, perhaps movie bosses are waiting until he is free for some press interviews.

Snipes plays Aman, the son of a nun (immaculate conception?) who broke her deal with God when she saved his life. Thus Aman was cursed for his Mammy’s mistake and his curse entails that all he has killed will pursue and haunt him forever. Considering Aman kills anyone who crosses him, he’s got a big problem. Tired of constantly killing the walking dead, Aman recruits a young gunman called Fabulos (Riley Smith).
The movie was initially called The Wretched, but once Snipes got involved the name changed to GallowWalker. The movie is directed by (aptly named) Andrew Goth who also has credits of the David Bowie film, Busted and Cold and Dark with Matt Lucas and Luke Goss (from Bros).
Check out the trailer for some gruesome, zombie killing fun. Welcome back Wesley ‘tax evader’ Snipes.
