Despite facing a very tough test, Ronda Rousey still got the job done last night against Liz Carmouche.

Everyone is interested in Ronda Rousey, and not just because she’s got a serious record in MMA. That record is now up to 7-0 overall as she got a win against Liz Carmouche last night in Anaheim.
A strong start from Carmouche in this Bantamweight Championship fight made the main event hugely entertaining, but Rousey weathered that early storm to slap on an armbar and get the submission in the first round for the seventh straight fight.
Since this was a main event, there was a decent bit of pressure for Rousey and Carmouche to perform, but with an estimated 15,000 in attendance and a gate of around $1.4 million, the UFC definitely has another huge star, and this time it’s not a man.
Rousey is a serious fighter, and while her looks draw a lot of comments, we’re totally confident that she would mercilessly beat the crap out of us. She’s not to be messed with.
Dana White himself commented on how well the fight had been received by the crowd after the event when speaking to Yahoo! Sports: “Imagine how this place would have been had [Machida-Henderson] been the main event…Everyone would have left here [angry] and it would have ruined the show”.
Speaking of, Lyoto Machida won his fight against Dan Henderson on a split decision (highlights, if you can call them that, are in the video), and that may see him in line for a light heavyweight title shot, but there was only one fight that really captured the attention last night.
