Getting up to anything exciting this weekend? Why not head up north for some outdoor fun as part of the Northern Ireland Adventureland weekend?
With the way the weather is in these parts the chances are you’re going to get this weekend, so why not have some fun while you’re at it?
We don’t simply mean splashing about in a puddle – not that that isn’t exciting, of course – we’re talking about the third annual Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend, organised by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) in conjunction with OutdoorNI.com, which takes place across a variety of different locations north of the border this Saturday and Sunday.
Fancy jetting around the Giant’s Causeway on a high-powered speedboat? No problem. How about riding a hovercraft in Limavady? Coasteering along the Ballyhornan Coastline? Driving a rally car in Portadown?
Those are just some of the 65 outdoor activity events offered by 21 different activity providers across what should be an action-packed weekend and you can take part without having to break the bank while you’re at it.
Over 1,400 people are expected to attend and participate in the series of events this weekend, which is perfect for families and groups of friends, with no previous experience necessary and all activities are either £10 per person or 50% off their normal price.
Commenting on the exciting weekend to come NITB’s Market Manager Fiona Cunningham said that whether people are looking to have fun with their friends, spend some quality time with their other half or do something different with the family, there is something for everyone on Adventureland Weekend.
“This is the third year of Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend and it has proven to be a great success with over 1,400 people taking part last year,” said Fiona.
“The weekend gives everybody the chance to try something new and fun for great value. It is the perfect kick start to a whole summer of outdoor activities and with so much to choose from across Northern Ireland adventure activities are ideal to build a weekend break around.
“Whether people are with friends, planning a family day out or simply going it alone – NI Adventureland Weekend is just about getting outdoors and trying something new. With qualified and experienced instructors showing people the ropes, no experience is necessary and all that’s required is a sense of adventure and an expectation of fun.
“It promises to be a great weekend and with so many fantastic activities at such great prices, the events will sell out fast so make sure you get your place booked!” Fiona added.
