Multiple Ironman and fitness coach Ash Seynk has been taking JOE readers through the stages of triathlon training and this week tackles swimming…
The discipline that really seems to scare rookie triathletes the most, the swim is an obviously huge part of the event. When you get a puncture on the bike you can pull over; when you get cramp on the run you can stop and stretch – you don’t have that luxury in the swim.
As Ash points out, it’s all about technique and conservation of energy – depending on the distance you’re taking on.
Thanks to do the good folks at One Escape Healthclub in Smithfield for the use of the pool.
