“The Ryan Line Is Open”
A plaque in memory of Gerry Ryan was unveiled at the RTÉ radio centre earlier today with the DJ’s famous phrase ‘”the Ryan Line is open” inscribed on the bronze tile.
The popular presenter was a mainstay on RTÉ radio since the late ’70s and went on to become the station’s most popular host pulling in 300,000 listeners at the height of his success.
It’s been over four years since Ryan passed away and the station tweeted earlier to say that the memorial in Donnybrook will ensure he’s never forgotten.
