A bit of sports science-style wizardy proves just how remarkable the Rugby Sevens star is.

That Carlin Isles is fast is not news, and videos of his exploits in the Sevens game have been entertaining us on YouTube for years now. This is probably the most popular, and it has been viewed over 5.5million times in less than two years.

But a new video, created by HSBC, takes a look at Isles and tries to measure just how fast he is. They clock his pace from a standing start and remarkably, he is faster out of the blocks and over the first 20 metres than Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world.

They also say that he runs the 40 yard dash faster than any NFL player in the history of the scouting combine and he also has a one-legged vertical leap four inches better than Kobe Bryant and among the top 10 of all NBA players ever measured.

In short, this short clip proves just what a phenomenal athlete Isles is.
