The Irishman’s star continues to rise…
You may have heard the rumours over the last week or so that Conor McGregor is to get the next shot at the featherweight title after the fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes. This rumour may have been given more legs after the release of the UFC FightPass figures.
According to the stats, Conor McGregor is the most searched fighter on UFC FightPass ahead of the likes of Jon Jones, Anderson Silva and female bantamweight Ronda Rousey.
Here is the full list of the most searched fighters…
1. Conor McGregor
2.Jon Jones
3. Nick Diaz
4. Anderson Silva
5. T.J. Dillashaw
6. Daniel Cormier
7. Rory MacDonald
8. Ronda Rousey
9.Mark Hunt
10. Cain Velasquez
This is further proof that McGregor is indeed the superstar in the lower weight divisions that the UFC have been hoping for and that he is the most marketable fighter in the world at the moment.

UFC President Dana White realises he has a star on his hands in Conor McGregor
Not only is he the most searched star on the UFC roster, the outspoken Dubliner also features twice on the top ten most watched fights on the UFC streaming and video site. His fight with Max Holloway enters at number six on the list while his UFC debut knock-out win over Marcus Brimage claims the number nine position in the top ten.
At the time of this list, pay-per-view figures of his recent fight against Dustin Poirier were not released but judging by the media and public interest in the fight around the world, it wouldn’t surprise us if that also creeps onto the list next time out.
It’s amazing to think that of the three fights that McGregor has fought which were eligible for inclusion, two of them made the list. Only his Dublin victory over Diego Brandao misses the cut.
If these figures are anything to go on, the UFC will not be stopping their relentless marketing of the Crumlin man any time soon… expect to see a title fight in the near future.
