If you want to feel what it’s like to experience the thrill of a single seater racecar that isn’t a shitty two-stroke go-cart then you have to get yourself down to Mondello Park for a go in their Formula Sheanes.

But what is a Formula Sheane to the non-petrolhead? Well, as the MicksGarage.ie lads say on their website, “Formula Sheane cars are all mechanically identical to each other, and the engines and gearboxes are sealed at the factory. They produce in the region of 140bhp and weigh less then 600kg’s.”  So it’s mostly about the driver’s skill and less about how good your car is (although, it does help to have a good car).

The lad’s Number 1 driver this season will be Robbie Allen, who placed 3rd in last year’s championship. As for the driver line up for their 2nd car, it will change throughout the season and funnily enough, the second drivers are largely comprised of different people called Mick.

The cars look fairly savage (see above) and they’re sure to look great as they tear by the losers on the racetrack. Sorry if you happen to be one of those soon-to-be losers.
